Gathering 2008
This years gathering will be held over the weekend of 6th and 7th September 2008.
Saturday 6th September: 11:00- AGM at the Esplanade Hotel, Dunoon. (Situated behind the Lamont Memorial)
Followed by a talk from Mr. Edward Lamont Lamont a distinguiahed gentleman banker from Connecticut.
13:00- Lunch. Then a short walk to the Lamont Memorial for the Wreath Laying Ceremony.
14:30- Visit Toward Castle.
15:30- Afternoon Tea at the Manse.
18:30- Evening Dinner at the Knockdow House.
20:00- After Dinner Speech by Mr. Ned Lamont. American Senatorial Canditate.
20:30- Ceilidh in Grande Scottish Style.
Sunday 7th September 09:00- Tour to Kilfinan via Ardlamont House, Ascog Castle and Inveryne.
11:00- Visit the Lamont Vault and listen to the history about Kilfinan Church.
12:00- Church service.
13:00-Lunch at Kilfinan Hotel then Farewells.

HOMECOMING SCOTLAND_/_INTERNATIONAL_GATHERING_OF_THE_CLANS_2009
2009 Has been designated the year of coming home by the Scottish executive. It will be a year of Scottish culture, a campaign to persuade people with Scots heritage to return to Scotland either on holiday or to live. 2009 was chosen because it is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. The organisers have chosen five central themes.

There will be many events during that year The gathering being one of the main events.
The Gathering Edinburgh 2009

The biggest gathering of the clans in 200 years is to be held in Edinburgh, more than 8,000 clan members and 30,000 visitors from around the world are expected to congregate in Holyrood park on 25th and 26th July 2009. Set in the magnificent Royal Park of Holyrood with its breathtaking volcanic backdrop of Arthur’s Seat“ The gathering has the honour of hosting the 2009 World Highland Games Heavy Athletic Championships. Over the weekend the largest highland games ever to have been held in Edinburgh will play host to the GREATEST INTERNATIONAL CLAN GATHERING ever to have taken place on Scottish soil.
CLAN PARADE
Saturday 25th July Clans people will march behind their chiefs and commanders. There will be no constraints on numbers, although only those with tickets for the event will be allowed to partake. The clan societies shall organise their own group for the parade. The majestic clan parade will march from holyrood park up the royal mile to the castle esplanade where a spectacular clan pageant will unfold. Massed bands, piper, and highland dancers will trace the history of the development of the clans through the ages in what promises to be a truly memorable experience, especially for one of Scots ancestry.
Sunday 26th The gathering and games will continue in the park, there will be Clan tents and entertainment
CLAN LAMONT will play a big part we shall have a clan tent, we have also booked a large tent to hold 250 people where we intend staging a Scottish show of culture song and dance. The society shall have a Lamont gathering on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th The aim being to have a focal point for Lamonts world wide to meet, this will be held in the Overseas league in Princess street Edinburgh provisional format is.
Friday 24th Meet and greet lunch followed by a bus tour of Lamont interests.
Evening Black tie dinner and Scottish night.
Saturday 25th Evening dinner and social. Time will depend when the pageant finishes.
